Ornate Sterling Silver Amethyst Pendant

Sweet and Petite This unique Sterling Silver Amethyst Pendant is sweet and unique.
Beautiful silver work with slightly oxidized background of raised patterns consisting of scrolls and beads that graduate higher to the center.
In the center is a round faceted Amethyst Gemstone that is set into a raised bezel. The color is a soft lilac tone. Turn this pretty piece over and you will see lovely deep cutout patterns throughout. The bale is also engraved in a pretty pattern.
Amethyst is the Birthstone for February. It is also associated with the 4th, 6th, and 17th Wedding Anniversary.

The legend of the origin of Amethyst comes to us from Greek myth.
- Dionysius, the God of Intoxication, was angered one day by an insult from a human and swore revenge on the next mortal that crossed his path. Violent tigers should carry out his wish.
Amethyst, a beautiful young maiden on her way to pay tribute to the goddess Diana, was to become the victim. Diana turned Amethyst into a stature of pure crystalline Quartz to protect her from the brutal claws. Dionysus wept tears of wine in remorse for his action at the sight of the beautiful statue. The god’s tears stained the Quartz purple, creating the famous gem.
